This is a reminder that the second payment of the 2011 - 2012 property tax is due March 1, 2012.  Interest will start accruing on March 2nd. If you need any information regarding your 2011 - 2012 taxes, please contact the town office. THE DATE FOR THE FEBRUARY 20th SELECTBOARD MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED. The Selectboard will be meeting on Monday, February 27th instead of their normal third Monday because of the President's Day holiday.  The meeting will still be held at the Town Office beginning at 6:00 p.m. THE NORTHPORT WARM NEIGHBORS FUEL FUND The town has established the Northport Warm Neighbors Fuel Fund with generous donations from local townspeople that are concerned about others that might be in need but might not meet the requirements of General Assistance or other fuel aid.  If you would like to donate to this fund, please contact the Town Office. THE TOWN OFFICE IS NOW ACCEPTING CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS The Town Office is now accepting credit card payments for all transactions, but they must be made in person at the Town Office.  We are currently using PayPort, which is a web based credit card payment processing system, and accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover cards, and debit cards with the aforementioned logos.  The card holder will be charged an additional fee for use of the service.  The collection of these additional fees are processed as part of the transaction and are collected by the provider for use of the site.  The fees are as follows: Any purchase of $1.00 to $40.00 will be charged an additional $1.00 Any purchase over $40.00 will be charged an additional 2.5%. 2012 DOG LICENSES ARE DUE It is time to re-license your dog for 2012.  The 2012 licenses were due before December 31, 2011.  Please bring with you the current rabies vaccination certificate.  License fees are $6.00 for spayed/neutered dogs and $11.00 for non-altered dogs.  Failure to register your dog before February 1, 2012 will result in a $25.00 fine. If you are having a wild life issue, please do not contact the animal control officer.  Contact the State Police at 1-800-452-4664 and they will contact the proper party to help you. KNIGHTS POND/WYMAN PARK SURVEY The Selectmen asked the townspeople to complete a survey in order to help them plan for the future of the Wyman Park area on Knights Pond.  To view the results of this survey, please click here.
